Adria's first ever motorhome on the Volkswagen chassis

In recent years Adria has renewed all its motorhomes, with its new generation design, and in the last two years offered more premium vehicles on new base vehicles, with the Supersonic on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and with premium Coral and Matrix models also on the prestigious German marque. New for 2024-25 sees the first Adria motorhome on the Volkswagen chassis, the new Compact Max.

New Compact Max. Go anywhere in maximum comfort. Until now, offered on the Fiat Ducato and Citroen Jumper (in some markets) now the Compact is available as the first Adria on a Volkswagen, base vehicle – the Crafter.

The new Compact Max sits atop the range, as the premium offer. It is slightly wider than the other models at 2.17m and features an all-new front hood and panoramic window. The Max brings an all-new interior and is offered in three layouts – SP, SL and DL. ‘

VW Crafter The new base vehicle is a premium offer, with striking looks and the covetable VW badge. Offering a choice of 2.0l TDI diesel engines at 140 HP or 177 HP, offering great torque and power characteristics. It is a pleasure to drive, with a manual 6- speed gearbox or 8-speed automatic, and a range of driver assistance aids for performance, safety and comfort.

The Crafter benefits with advanced driver technologies, many derived from its car siblings of course, and high ratings when it comes to driveability, performance, and safety features. The digital cockpit is customisable, with full colour digital cluster to aid driving information and a smart navigation and infotainment system. The Compact Max is offered as a 3,5t chassis, with options to upgrade to 3,8 and 4,0t.

Body. The Compact uses Adria’s proven ‘Comprex’ body construction and ‘silver metallic’ exterior, with Oyster Silver exterior cabin colour. The front panoramic window can be opened and there is a large roof window above the living room dinette. Inside there is a double floor for utility management and extra storage. On the outside there are framed windows, utility hook ups and a generous garage.

Living Spaces. Featuring Adria’s new ‘fluent’ design, it is a premium place to be, extremely comfortable and with great ambiance day or night. With the double floor construction, the living spaces are all at the same level and flow nicely throughout the vehicle. There is a choice of classic style dinette or face-to-face double sofa arrangement; the living room is a light and airy space, with a superbly versatile table. The dinette table is scratch-resistant, with an extension and can also serve as a small table during driving with cup-holder and personal storage. The removable large table seats 4 and can be used outdoors.

Directly adjacent is the smart new kitchen with all functionalities, plenty of storage and a compressor fridge. Kitchen features slim laminate extendable worktop with multi-layer coating and finger-print resistant material, with capacious and lockable soft-closing drawers beneath, 2 or 3 burner stove cooker (model dependent) with glass cover, stainless steel sink and gas oven with grill function.

The rear master suite bedroom is extremely comfortable in a choice of bed formats, longitudinal ‘L’ beds in DL/SL layouts and cross beds in SP layout. All bedroom formats offer plenty of storage, nice illumination, and Luxe mattresses. The elegant bathroom features a swivel-wall design for a separate shower cubicle and the facilities as you would find in a small boutique hotel.

All three new models offer Truma diesel heating. Compact Max offers the Adria MACH smart app, enabling users to control the key vehicle functions. MACH Plus option adds local and remote control, plus access to interactive user manuals, travel information, and mobile office features from the convenience of a smart phone or tablet. The new models offer a selection of textiles, soft furnishings, and a range of optional additional equipment, including factory supplied awning, air-conditioning, rear-view camera, towing hook and solar panel packs.
