Our Adria Matrix is at the heart of our event set up

Our Adria Matrix motorhome is the heart of our event set up. Our home on wheels allows me to focus on racing and not worry about sleeping, food and down time.

We have recently returned from our first trip to Europe in our Adria Matrix 670SL and what a week it was. Travelling through France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, it was quite the journey. 2000 miles, 27 Miles per Gallon, relaxing luxury and a quiet cabin made this journey easy

Leaving on Monday, leg one would take us to Dover where we would catch a P&O ferry to Calais. After a smooth crossing we drove 5 hours across France, Belgium, Netherlands and into Germany, where we would then stop for the night in a service station near Koblenz. As always we parked close to the front door where there are plenty of lights and cameras. It is not the official parking for motorhomes, but the safest option.

After a great nights sleep, our journey continued on Tuesday morning, travelling south towards Kempten. Around lunchtime we travelled over the impressive Fussen pass which links Germany to Austria. Always a stunning drive and we stopped at the top for some lunch.

The journey then continued down and into Austria, close to Innsbruck. In this area of the world, the roads are just incredible and take you through the most stunning areas. Next it was the Brenner Pass. Not entirely sure what was happening at the Italian border, but the Brenner Pass was reduced to a single lane all the way to Italy. It added 2 hours to our journey and at the border the Police were selecting cars at random for checks. We were waved through and our journey continued. Just a couple of hours later we arrived at our destination - Commezadura in the Italian Dolomites. A beautiful town in the Val Di Sole valley. We have been racing here for nearly 20 years and it is a venue that we always look forward to revisiting.

On Wednesday morning we got the Matrix level and set up the awning ahead of track walk and rider sign on. Then it was a trip to the local supermarket to get some local produce for dinner and connecting our onboard wifi to the event so that we could watch some tv in the evening.

On Thursday our racing began with a practice session followed by qualifying. Scott was feeling good in practice and as the current World Ranked number 1 rider, he would qualify as the final rider on the track. His run was good and he crossed the finish line in 6th.

Immediately after racing on Friday night, we left the venue as Scott was racing on Saturday in Switzerland in the European 4X Series. Scott’s dad Mike did the driving as Scott reclined the passenger seat! Saturday was a great day, riding great all day and taking the win. It was a great day and even though we were all tired, it was a great performance.

Early on Sunday morning, we boarded our return boat back to the UK. It had been a whirlwind trip and in 6 days we certainly made the most of our tour. As always a huge thank you to Adria. We are able to have our home away from home at events and it certainly helps our performance to be as good as it can be.

It is essential to my racing and I’m stoked that Adria are my principal partner. If you’re in the market for a motorhome or caravan, don’t look beyond Adria. Amazing company, amazing products and quality your family can rely on. Thank you Adria.
